The honed.life membership includes an annual blood draw assessing more than 100 biomarkers. A complete list of biomarkers is available here.Additional assessments—including environmental toxin panels, heavy metal screenings, glucose monitoring, and other specialized tests—may be ordered at any time through the honed.life platform. Many of these services are difficult to obtain elsewhere and may cost up to twice as much.
Based on assessment findings, honed.life provides a comprehensive suite of individualized, holistic protocols, including but not limited to:Renal, Hepatic, Thyroid, Endocrine, and Metabolic Health: honed.life monitors HbA1c, fasting glucose, and uric acid to evaluate renal and metabolic status, supported by clinician-directed optimization strategies. Tailored protocols may facilitate hormonal balance—including testosterone, progesterone, DHEA, vitamin D, and inflammatory markers such as C-reactive protein (CRP). Thyroid function is assessed via T3, T4, and TSH testing with clinician interpretation. Mineral management encompasses iron, magnesium, and lipoprotein(a) monitoring, alongside blood pressure support. Fertility evaluation is available through hormone and biomarker analysis with clinical guidance.Gastrointestinal Health and Nutrition: honed.life offers protocols to enhance gut health and digestive function, emphasizing gastrointestinal performance, hydration, and nutrient absorption. Additional protocols address mitochondrial function and cognitive wellness. The care team screens for biomarkers linked to mood alterations and facilitates clinical referral as necessary.
Longevity medicine and functional medicine both prioritize the optimization of health and well-being, though they differ in emphasis. Functional medicine employs a holistic, patient-centered framework that treats the body as an integrated system. Its objective is to identify and address the underlying causes of disease rather than merely managing symptoms. This methodology typically incorporates personalized lifestyle modifications, nutritional interventions, and targeted therapies to restore physiological balance, contrasting with standardized pharmaceutical protocols.Longevity medicine shares this commitment to prevention and individualized care but specifically targets the aging process and the extension of healthspan—the duration of life spent in good health. It integrates functional medicine principles with advanced aging research, including genetic and epigenetic insights, regenerative therapies, and sophisticated diagnostics, to preserve vitality throughout the lifespan.By contrast, allopathic medicine—conventional Western medicine—generally focuses on diagnosing and treating disease through pharmaceuticals and surgery. Although allopathic medicine is highly effective in acute care and the management of severe conditions, it often prioritizes symptom relief over root-cause resolution. Both functional and longevity medicine complement and extend the strengths of conventional medicine by adopting a more comprehensive, preventive, and individualized approach. These disciplines are central to the honed.life clinical philosophy.
Many individuals who visit honed.life perceive themselves as healthy yet identify latent health risks or significant physiological imbalances. Most of these concerns can be resolved through straightforward interventions. This illustrates the value of early detection testing: addressing potential issues while they remain manageable rather than allowing them to escalate into serious conditions.
